Having returned to the area from raids up and down the coast, Blackbeard's Crew will be returning a to a modern market at The 6th annual Holy Point Art and Seafood Festival, October 10th from 10 to 4. Welcome old friends back as we share tales of our travels and the life of pyracy upon the bay. Experience the life of sailors and villagers durring the Golden Age of Pyracy (1680-1730) as this years raid will bring new challenges to the encampment where young and young at heart pit their seamanship and gaming skills against the pirates. For the truly venturous try your hand at a chantey or a jig with our musicians and dancers. Learn the difference between hollywood vs real life pirate, maybe even bend an oar on the Museums shallope Explorer next to your favorite crew member.
From the event website:
For little lads and lassies there will be activities at the Children’s Garden including storytelling, a model train exhibit, llamas and alpacas, and the now famous Blackbeard’s Pirates Scallywag School. For the 12 and up kids we’ll have Blackbeard’s Pirate re-enactors, a living history group out of Hampton, VA. They will fascinate everyone with portrayals of life and times of pirates along the Chesapeake Bay and East Coast in the early 18th century. This year they will also include a group of pirate hunter re-enactors.
